Eiland: Pardo said Netanyahu concealed the submarine sale to Egypt and endangered Mossad operatives' lives

Giora Eiland, confirmed this evening (Saturday) in an interview with the program "Moving to First" on Kan News Reshet Bet the reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concealed from the defense establishment the approval of the submarine sale to Egypt. Eiland described how the information presented to Naftali Bennett led to the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. According to him, Netanyahu urged the Mossad to thwart the deal without its heads knowing that he had approved it, which included "endangering the lives of Mossad operatives." Eiland added that this is "shocking information" and that of all the allegations in the affair, "this is without a doubt the most significant accusation." Eiland described a decisive meeting with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, attended by himself, former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo, and additional generals. According to him, Bennett initially leaned towards fixing deficiencies without a commission of inquiry, but changed his mind after a personal conversation with Pardo. Beyond the submarines, Eiland criticized the purchase of four missile boats from the company "ThyssenKrupp," and claimed that "there was no logic in insisting on a single supplier."
