E-cigarettes contain dangerous substances - study

A doctor warns that e-cigarettes contain substances used for preserving biological tissues and can cause severe lung damage requiring transplants in young people under 30. The study also found that switching from regular cigarettes to vapes only slightly reduces risks.

A doctor warns that e-cigarettes contain dangerous substances, including those used for preserving corpses. Regular use of vapes can lead to such severe lung damage that some young people, up to age 30, require lung transplants. The specialist cites the experience of clinics in Boston, where separate departments for such operations already exist. The doctor also emphasizes the danger of regular cigarettes: smoking about 10 cigarettes a day significantly increases the risk of lung cancer and damages blood vessels. Regarding smoking cessation, he notes that personal motivation plays a decisive role, while nicotine replacements only ease the process. Previously, "Kursor" reported that a study showed switching from regular cigarettes to electronic ones does not eliminate the consequences of smoking, but only slightly reduces the likelihood of cancer and premature death.
