Against the backdrop of security difficulties preventing Israeli airlines from operating flights to Dubai, an alternative destination in the UAE is emerging: Abu Dhabi. However, an inquiry with the Israeli airlines reveals that they have not yet received an official notice or instructions on the matter, so it is currently unclear whether and when they will be able to operate flights to this destination. Since the outbreak of the war, aviation activity between Israel and the UAE has been subject to restrictions, and Israeli airlines are not operating regular commercial flights to Dubai. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways continues to operate direct flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Abu Dhabi, remaining a major option for Israelis. Opening Abu Dhabi to Israeli companies could increase competition and offer an alternative, but it is not equivalent to a return to flights to Dubai. As of now, the companies are awaiting an official update.
