Tragedy in Slovenia: Gil Hillel killed during family trip in the country

Gil Hillel, a 44-year-old resident of Kibbutz Yizre'el, was killed during a family trip in Slovenia. He is survived by his wife and three children. The kibbutz issued an official statement of mourning: "A heavy tragedy has struck Kibbutz Yizre'el. The community mourns the tragic death of our dear friend Gil Hillel, during a family trip in Slovenia. He was born and raised in Moshav Mikhmoret, came to Kibbutz Yizre'el following his marriage to a daughter of the kibbutz, and built his home there. The members of the kibbutz received the difficult news in shock and pain and are enveloping the extended family, friends, children, and youth. We ask at this difficult time to respect the family's privacy."
