Dedi Simchi sends a message to Netanyahu and the Change Bloc: "You can't dumb down this people"

Brig. Gen. (res.) Dedi Simchi called for the formation of a unity government following the election results, in an interview with 103FM. He argued that the struggle surrounding Netanyahu stood at the center of the campaign, and that the solutions to the central issues would be identical in any coalition composition.

Brig. Gen. (res.) Dedi Simchi called for the formation of a broad unity government following the results of the elections for the 26th Knesset. In an interview with 103FM, Simchi expressed satisfaction with the high voter turnout, saying, "The people, at least for now, have had their say and that must be respected." He appealed to all sides: "Rise above yourselves and create a broad unity government here to help this people." Simchi argued that the central disputes, such as the conscription of Haredim and the establishment of a state commission of inquiry, would receive an identical solution in any coalition composition, and therefore there is no justification for continued division. According to him, "The issue was indeed Netanyahu or not Netanyahu, and I hope that issue is off the table." He also addressed external threats, mentioning a statement by one of the leaders of the Joint List linking voter turnout to the residents of Gaza and Judea and Samaria. He concluded his remarks with an interpretation: "What did the people say in the elections, as I understand it? Leave me alone with these nonsense, sit together and find a solution."
