Large crowds from Kafr Qasim and beyond, alongside political and popular leaders from our Arab community, participated on Thursday morning in the annual march to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the massacre committed by the Israeli Border Police on October 29, 1956, which resulted in the martyrdom of 49 citizens. The march set off from the memorial monument towards the martyrs' shrines, organized by the popular committee and the committee of the martyrs' families. The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality stated in a communiqué that the steadfastness of the residents turned the crime into a founding event in the struggle for survival. It considered that David Ben-Gurion wanted to complete the 1948 Nakba by deporting those who remained, but the steadfastness of the residents foiled the goal. The Front also recalled the activists Tawfiq Toubi, Meir Vilner, and Latif Dori.
