Crisis in Israel's construction industry - the unusual appeal to resolve the situation was made
The Ministry of Construction and Housing held a professional conference in Tel Aviv with ambassadors and economic attachés, ahead of publishing a new call for proposals for foreign construction companies, aiming to expand their operations in Israel and increase construction volumes. The Ministry of Construction and Housing is advancing a move to expand the operations of international construction companies in Israel, aiming to increase construction volumes and shorten timelines. As part of this move, the ministry held a professional conference in Tel Aviv last Thursday, attended by ambassadors, embassy representatives, and economic attachés. The conference presented opportunities in the Israeli construction market and the key topics to be included in a new call for proposals for foreign construction companies. Representatives of foreign countries were asked to help distribute the call in their countries. The move is part of a government decision to accelerate the real estate sector, which allocated additional budget to expand activities with international companies. The conference was held with the accompaniment of KPMG. In addition, last week employers in the construction, industry, commerce, and services sectors criticized the delay in transferring a budget of 10 million shekels from the Ministry of Finance to the Population and Immigration Authority, intended to promote increasing the rate of foreign workers from 3.3% to 3.8% of the total population, a move expected to allow the entry of about 20,000 workers into the construction industry.
