Court orders to cease operations of an educational institution in Bnei Brak
The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court ordered the cessation of use of the Bnei Yisrael Yeshiva building in Bnei Brak, which serves as an educational institution for children, after it was built on land designated as open public space. The order will take effect in April 2027, and the institution is required to present a safety certificate for the building as a condition for continued temporary operation.
The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court ordered today (Monday) the cessation of use of the Bnei Yisrael Yeshiva building named after the Admor of Ruzhin in Bnei Brak, where an educational institution for children operates. According to the Israel Land Enforcement Authority, the building, covering about 60 square meters, was built on land designated as open public space and serves as an educational institution contrary to the land's designation. After the use of the site continued, the authority turned to the court, through the State Attorney's Office's Department for Guidance of Prosecutors, requesting an order to cease use of the compound. The court granted the request and determined that the order will take effect in April 2027, to allow the institution time to find an alternative location for its activities. Meanwhile, the institution is required to present within a set timeframe a structural engineer's certificate attesting to the building's safety, as a condition for continued operation at the site until the order takes effect. The Israel Land Enforcement Authority noted that the proceeding is part of a broad operation against illegal uses of open public spaces in Bnei Brak, during which educational institutions and kindergartens operating in these areas are also being examined.
