Brett McGurk, former US President Joe Biden's envoy to the Middle East and former senior official at the National Security Council, said in an interview with i24NEWS that will air this evening (Tuesday) on "The Main Edition" that before October 7, "we did not see that there were warnings or indications that such an action by Hamas was possible." McGurk said that after October 7, the US administration reviewed all the intelligence information they had and found no warning or indication of the event. "According to what Israeli officials told us, they also had no warning," he said. McGurk added that the US administration always conducts such reviews, comparing the process to the reform of US intelligence after September 11. He called on Israel to establish a commission of inquiry to understand what went wrong and implement necessary reforms.
