Below the Yellow Line: Givati and Yahalom Destroyed a Massive Tunnel Route in the Southern Strip

Fighters from the Givati Brigade Combat Team and the Yahalom unit destroyed a strategic underground route approximately two kilometers long in the southern Gaza Strip. The complex operation was led by the Gaza Division's Engineering Unit, as part of a systematic clearance of the "Yellow Line" area from Hamas outposts and military infrastructure. The IDF permitted publication today (Friday). This destruction joins a series of targeted operations in recent months against Hamas's tunnel network, activity that continues continuously even during the ceasefire period to prevent the organization's rehabilitation capabilities. Last month, forces from the Southern Brigade and Yahalom sealed two additional routes with a combined length of over two kilometers east of the Yellow Line. In May, the Kfir Brigade Combat Team destroyed two tunnel routes of similar length in the Central Camps, where living quarters, weapons, dozens of rockets, and explosive devices were exposed. In the northern Strip, over 26 kilometers of underground routes have been neutralized since the beginning of the ceasefire. In early September, forces from the Northern Brigade and Division 99 destroyed a one-kilometer tunnel, and in April, forces from Brigade 205 detonated four routes 800 meters long that included command rooms and mine storage sites.
