Ben Caspit reveals in an extensive investigation the complex political maneuvers that led to Eli Goldschmidt's surprising reserved slot in Likud. According to the investigation, Goldschmidt simultaneously conducted advanced talks to establish a new right-wing party with Moshe Green (Tzomet) and Gadi Yevarkan, while attempting to recruit additional partners such as Prof. Moshe Cohen-Eliya and Yifat Ben-Hai Segev. The planned party was intended to serve as an ideological right-wing alternative that is not Likud, without the burden of October 7. Goldschmidt, who in the past sharply attacked Netanyahu and accused him of the massacre, ultimately decided to accept a reserved slot in Likud. Green claims Goldschmidt used him as a bargaining chip to obtain the reserved slot, and that the connection was severed after Goldschmidt realized there was no chance the venture would pass the electoral threshold. Goldschmidt denies this and states that the connection was severed earlier.
