The touristic Cappadocia region in central Turkey witnessed an event titled "Be a Light for Gaza," organized by the Nevşehir branch of the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH). Participants lit their mobile phones in a symbolic show of solidarity with Palestinians and raised a dove-shaped banner symbolizing peace and freedom, featuring drawings of an olive branch, the Palestinian flag, and Jerusalem. The head of the IHH branch in Nevşehir, Tuncay Zeyd Sisli, said they wanted to send a strong humanitarian message for Gaza to the world from Cappadocia, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. He explained that the lights symbolize shared conscience, solidarity, and a call for justice. He added: "We wanted to present to the world from Cappadocia a scene expressing our sharing of Gaza's suffering and pain, but through a silent scream." The scene was filmed from the air, and the event concluded with recitation of the Quran and prayers.
