The average salary of an Israeli employee rose in August to 14,448 shekels, an increase of 581 shekels compared to August last year, a rise of 4.2%. This is according to preliminary estimates from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Meanwhile, the number of salaried jobs in August stood at 4.158 million, a decrease of 2.2% compared to July and an increase of 0.9% compared to August last year. The CBS also updated the July data: the average salary stood at 14,534 shekels, an increase of 472 shekels compared to July last year. In the high-tech sector, the average salary in July was 34,301 shekels, an increase of 781 shekels compared to July last year. The number of salaried jobs in high-tech in July was 397.3 thousand, a decrease of 0.2% compared to June and a decrease of 0.3% compared to July last year. The share of salaried jobs in high-tech stood at 9.3% of all salaried jobs in the economy.
