Iran's IRGC says self-imposed ballistic missile range limit lifted
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced the removal of a self-imposed 2,000 km range limit on ballistic missiles, suggesting potential development of longer-range missiles. The announcement followed Iran's supreme leader warning of unlimited response to threats.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a marathon of talks with the foreign ministers of 12 countries, including Oman, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Revolutionary Guards announced that the restriction on the range of Iranian missiles has been removed, following the leader's directive to respond to threats without geographical limitation. The spokesman did not specify a new range nor present a test or new operational system. He described the confrontation as asymmetric warfare and claimed that Iran is capable of striking the enemy at unexpected points, and that underground facilities for missile production have been established. No independent verification was provided for these claims.
