The Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, approved the integration of an additional Border Police company into the Judea and Samaria Division, which will specialize in handling nationalist crime and will begin operational activity at the end of November 2026. The company, which began its training in August, will operate based on IDF manpower standards and will focus on hotspots of violence in the area. A security source noted that a Border Police company is equivalent to the addition of two infantry battalions in the context of nationalist crime, and its marginal productivity is higher. Alongside this, in the IDF, criticism is leveled at the senior command of the Israel Police, which according to military sources did not reinforce the Judea and Samaria District with manpower and resources in light of the increase in the severity of incidents. A security source emphasized that the manpower standards of the Border Police in Judea and Samaria belong to the IDF, and that the police can strengthen the district with patrol cars and investigators. The decision was made on the recommendation of the Central Command, against the backdrop of the increase in the number of isolated farms and new settlements and the friction between Israelis and Palestinians.
