Police have solved the murder of Yonit (Yanina) Swaed, which occurred at the end of September on Independence Street in Haifa. According to the investigation findings, the motive for the murder was the victim's desire to separate from her partner. The partner was arrested at the scene on suspicion of committing the murder. During the investigation, which lasted over a month, suspicion arose that the suspect attempted to tamper with evidence and present a false impression that she had harmed herself. Investigators from the Lahav 433 unit, with assistance from the Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Criminal Identification Unit of the Coastal District, collected significant evidence, including the murder weapon. His detention was extended from time to time, and upon completion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed ahead of the submission of an indictment.
