During the hearing, the suspect's attorney, Ben Lulu, argued that this is an ongoing financial dispute between the two, and that the son requested money the father was keeping for him. Police representative, Chief Inspector Morris Ben Simon, stated that the suspect denies the assault incident but did not request money. It also emerged that the suspect has prior cases for violent offenses, assaulting a helpless minor, and assaulting his wife, and was previously involuntarily hospitalized for psychiatric reasons. The judge extended his detention until next Tuesday, citing dangerousness and risk of obstructing the investigation, given that the suspect lives with his father.
