27,000 apartments instead of office towers that will never be built

The most mature plan, nearing deposit, is for the construction of two 32-story towers with 400 apartments in the Amitech compound of the Ezri Group in Givat Shmuel, on Highway 4. It will replace a plan approved years ago for the construction of 52,000 square meters of office space that the group did not realize. Half of the apartments in the project are defined as "micro" units of 50 square meters, intended for young households without children. The change follows a reorganization in the Planning Administration, where a residential and urban division was established under Sigy Bari, which turned the committee into an initiator. The committee began working with mayors instead of opposing them, focusing on large and strategic compounds. The goal is to find a mix that will allow the realization of office plans that remained on paper, while mixing uses of offices, commerce, and residences. The committee is authorized to operate until the end of 2029, and the test will be how many of the apartments actually reach construction.
