The foreign ministers of 19 countries condemned Colombia's opening of its embassy to Israel in occupied Jerusalem, stating that it contradicts UN Security Council resolutions and undermines peace. The joint statement called on the Colombian government to reverse the decision and comply with international law.

The foreign ministers of 19 countries condemned on Friday Colombia's opening of its embassy to Israel in occupied Jerusalem. This came in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Palestine, Turkey, Algeria, Djibouti, Indonesia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, and Yemen. The ministers affirmed that the step contradicts UN Security Council resolutions and undermines efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution. They stressed that any measures aimed at changing the legal or historical status of occupied Jerusalem, or recognizing it as the capital of Israel, are null and void with no legal effect, based on UN resolutions, particularly resolutions 476 and 478 of 1980. The statement called on the Colombian government to reconsider and reverse its decision, fulfill its obligations under international law, and avoid taking any measures that affect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. They also emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent and sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
