17 people arrested including foreign activists and journalists in the West Bank, two families forced to demolish their homes in Jerusalem

Israeli occupation forces arrested 17 people, including 12 foreign activists, two foreign journalists, and three Palestinians, during olive picking in Kafr Ni'ma west of Ramallah, and forced two families to demolish their homes in Jabal al-Mukabbir in Jerusalem.

On Friday, Israeli occupation forces arrested 17 people, including 12 foreign activists, two foreign journalists, and three Palestinian citizens, during their participation in olive picking in the village of Kafr Ni'ma west of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Local sources reported that settlers attacked the participants in the Salam area near Jabal al-Raysan, under the protection of occupation forces who assaulted them and arrested a number of them. The 'Faz'a' campaign stated that the Palestinian detainees are the campaign coordinator in Ramallah, Hala Abu Gharbiya, and the farmers Ya'qub Ataya and Muhammad Ataya, and that soldiers assaulted them before taking them to a nearby military camp. In a related context, occupation forces forced dozens of foreign activists and journalists to leave the village of Abu Falah northeast of Ramallah, and also forced olive pickers in the Hayt al-Miriyya area to leave their lands. In occupied Jerusalem, occupation authorities forced two Palestinian citizens to self-demolish their homes in the al-Sala'a neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukabbir, south of the city. The homes belong to Mar'i Jamil Abdullah Ja'abees and Muhammad Aziz Jamil Ja'abees, each about 50 square meters, built in 2020, and housing 18 individuals. The two families had paid 25,000 shekels in an attempt to prevent the demolition.
