Indictment filed against three daycare workers in Ariel for child abuse
An indictment was filed against three caregivers at a daycare in Ariel, Israel, for hundreds of acts of abuse against infants and toddlers. The charges include choking, tying, and force-feeding. The prosecution seeks detention until the end of proceedings.
Tomorrow (Sunday), the Central District Attorney's Office is expected to file a severe indictment against the director of the 'Luchik' daycare in Ariel, Natalia Kisilevsky, and two caregivers, Darina Khalupa and Anna Peglaxi, for abusing toddlers. The indictment, spanning about 100 pages, details over 600 cases of severe violence committed against more than ten children over just a month and a half, from September 1 to October 15. The daycare operated in an apartment housing about 30 children, and security cameras documented serious acts including throwing, choking, hair pulling, tying, and shaking leading to loss of consciousness. The Central District Attorney described the difference between the older children's room and the infants' room as 'the difference between heaven and hell', noting that children who wanted to 'care for' them were placed in the small room. The investigation will continue after the indictment is filed, to examine suspicions of incidents from the previous year and to check the involvement of additional caregivers. Former Knesset member Oren Hazan, whose two children were harmed at the facility, said the suspects 'deserve the death penalty' and called the daycare 'Satan's dwelling'.
