Ziad Bishara, a resident of Tira in his late 50s, was shot dead this evening (Wednesday) in Tayibe. The murder comes about a year and a half after his wife, Susan Abd al-Qader Bishara, was shot dead while sitting in her car in Tira. Al-Qader, a social activist in her early 40s, ran in the last elections for the Tira city council and was interviewed on the program "Al-Osboa" of Channel 12 News in August 2023. In the interview she said: "We wake up every morning to a new murder in Arab society. The numbers only go up and the police are not dealing with crime." Police officers from the Sharon district who arrived at the scene began collecting evidence and searching for suspects. Police emphasized that the background to the incident is likely an ongoing blood feud.
