Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv attacked the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk on the night of August 12. According to him, the strike was carried out using drones, missiles, and unmanned naval vessels from a distance of more than 300 km from the front line. Hits on air defense positions, piers, and seaport infrastructure were confirmed. Earlier, the Reuters news agency reported that after the attack, a grain terminal in the port of Novorossiysk suspended operations. OSINT analysts reported a hit on a grain elevator and a fire. The company owning the terminal confirmed that it was damaged and suspended operations. This strike could be a response to Russia's ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cargo ports in the Black Sea, as well as on cargo ships, including those carrying Ukrainian grain for export.
