Yuli Edelstein returns to the fateful day, and settles the score with Likud and Tally Gotliv: "I was right"
MK Yuli Edelstein gave an interview to 103FM, criticized the Likud list and MK Tally Gotliv, and revisited the day he was removed as head of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Edelstein claimed he was right in his prediction that a conscription law would not emerge from the process, and that the faction is not functioning properly. He called for the establishment of a broad Zionist government.
MK Yuli Edelstein, a former Likud member, gave an interview today (Thursday) to 103FM and launched a sharp attack on his former party. Edelstein took a dig at the Likud list, saying the reactions to the list upset him, and that commentators on the left said it was a bad list. He revisited the day he was removed as head of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and claimed he was right in his prediction he made then: "They can remove me, but a conscription law won't come out of this." Edelstein criticized the faction's conduct, claiming its members vote according to the instructions of the faction secretary and align with the instructions of the Haredi factions, unlike the past when he and other members were independent. He also took a dig at MK Tally Gotliv, saying he almost sat shiva over it. Edelstein called for the establishment of a broad Zionist government, saying the parties of the change bloc dream of a narrow government dependent on extremists. He noted that his new party, Yashar!, is the only one talking about a broad unity government.
