In a tweet posted on X, he asked for help from the network: "Any support you can provide would be appreciated. My parents do not share my views and it seems they are no longer willing to provide me with a home. I know the road ahead will be hard, but this is the path I have chosen." He added that he chose a different path from most people and stood by his statements: "I regret nothing I have done. If I died today, at least I would know I died believing in myself." This follows a confrontation with British host Piers Morgan, who called him "anti-Semitic and hypocritical" after his remarks about Jews and his comparison to dwarfs. Morgan attacked: "What you just said is even more ridiculous... I find it depressing that a young man who was given the opportunity to study at a top university can be so stupid." Franco claimed Morgan was not letting him explain himself, and Morgan replied: "You explained yourself, you are an anti-Semite and a hypocrite." The incident sparked reactions on social media.
