Young Israelis trapped in hotel in Bulgaria: 'We left a party and were attacked'

A group of 18-year-old Israelis on a pre-military release vacation in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, reported being trapped in their hotel rooms after being violently attacked by a group of Britons. The attackers identified them as Israelis, caught two in an alley, beat them using pepper spray, and choked one. The youths barricaded themselves in their rooms and fear to go out. Local police are not helping, and the Israeli Foreign Ministry has yet to provide practical assistance.

According to them, after leaving a local party, a group of Britons identified them as Israelis and began following them. Two of the friends were caught in a dark alley and severely beaten using pepper spray and assault weapons. Another friend was dragged into the alley, attacked, and choked. The youths managed to escape and barricade themselves in their hotel rooms, but since then they fear to go out and dare not even go down to buy food or water. The mother of one of the boys reported that anti-Semitic groups are roaming outside looking for Israelis to harm. Local police are not assisting, and the Israeli Foreign Ministry said the situation room is handling the incident, but no practical help has been provided so far. The parents are calling for immediate intervention by official Israeli authorities.
