You Will Pay - Iran Sent Ultimatum to Gulf States

Iran has demanded that the Gulf states pressure US President Donald Trump to halt American strikes and resume negotiations. Otherwise, Tehran threatened attacks on strategically important infrastructure in the region. According to Reuters, Iranian authorities warned that potential targets could include oil fields, oil refineries, energy facilities, water supply systems, and transport infrastructure of states considered Washington's allies. The warning was conveyed during a series of diplomatic contacts after Donald Trump stated in late July his readiness to launch new strikes on the Islamic Republic's energy infrastructure. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed the situation with representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan, stating that Tehran is ready for retaliatory actions but considers diplomatic settlement the best way to avoid large-scale escalation. Following these contacts, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman intensified diplomatic efforts, trying to convince Washington to return to negotiations. Riyadh made it clear that it is ready to give a tough military response in case of an attack on its territory. Tehran also reminded of the 2019 attack on Saudi Aramco facilities, which led to a temporary reduction in oil production and demonstrated the vulnerability of the Gulf states' energy infrastructure.
