Yoram Cohen: 'There are cracks in Zini's decisions, the decision to secure Netanyahu's family is far-reaching'

Yoram Cohen, former head of the Shin Bet and a candidate on the 'Yashar!' party list for the Knesset, spoke today (Monday) to Radio 103FM, addressing the political situation, the state commission of inquiry into the October 7 failure, and the current Shin Bet head, David Zini. Cohen said there is a need to investigate the failure to understand what went wrong and how to prevent a recurrence. Regarding Zini, he said that while Zini's military service as a major general should be appreciated, the Shin Bet is a civilian agency with significant powers, and it must maintain statesmanship and non-partisanship even if the prime minister requests unlawful actions. Cohen added that there are cracks in some of Zini's decisions, including his statements and the security arrangement for Netanyahu's family, which he called a far-reaching step, as there is a difference between the prime minister and his family members.
