Yoav Segalovich signs with Mansour Abbas - this will be his place on the list | First publication

MK Yoav Segalovich has signed a framework agreement with MK Mansour Abbas, under which he is expected to be placed second on the Ra'am party's list for the Knesset, subject to completing understandings and conditions. The agreement is not final, and official details will be published after August 22. Segalovich set conditions: promoting national-civil service for Arabs and recognition of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. He is expected to be the party's first Jewish representative.

MK Yoav Segalovich has signed a framework agreement with MK Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party, under which Segalovich is expected to be placed second on the party's list for the Knesset. The agreement, first published in Maariv, is subject to completing all understandings between the parties and additional conditions they set. According to sources, one of the central conditions Segalovich set was receiving one of the top three spots on the list, and it was agreed in principle that he would be placed second. However, at this stage there is no final approval, and the agreement is only in principle. Full details and an official statement are expected to be published only after August 22, at the end of the primaries in the Ra'am party. Segalovich set two additional central conditions: promoting a framework for national-civil service for young people from the Arab society, as part of a policy that would encourage broader civic integration, and explicit recognition by Ra'am of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, in accordance with the values of the Declaration of Independence. This demand has political and symbolic significance and may spark discussion within the Arab public and among the party's leadership. Segalovich is expected to be the party's first Jewish representative, aiming to serve as a bridge between Jewish and Arab society and promote cooperation between sectors. The connection between Segalovich and Abbas will help Abbas present his party as a legitimate partner in the change bloc, but may face internal opposition within Ra'am. The contacts between the two were conducted over a long period on a low flame since January 2026, even before the approval of the state budget, and now seem to have ripened into a final move.
