Yeshiva Alumni Return to the Study Hall – This Time with Their Bar and Bat Mitzvah Children

Dozens of alumni from the Neve Deklar Hesder Yeshiva, spanning all 50 years of its existence, came together with their children and grandchildren celebrating bar or bat mitzvah for a special day under the banner 'Returning to the Yeshiva with the Next Generation'. The event included joint study, a meeting with the head of the yeshiva Rabbi David Gavrieli, field activities, a challah separation workshop for girls, and distribution of gifts and a study book for continued learning at home.

Dozens of alumni from all 50 years of the Neve Deklar Hesder Yeshiva came together with their children and grandchildren celebrating bar or bat mitzvah this year for a special and moving day under the banner 'Returning to the Yeshiva with the Next Generation'. The event aimed to connect generations and continue the legacy. It opened with joint study by parents, grandparents, and the bar/bat mitzvah children, followed by a meeting with the head of the yeshiva Rabbi David Gavrieli, who spoke about the significance of the mitzvah year and the importance of passing on the torch of Torah and values. Later, participants went on an experiential field activity led by Rabbi Binyamin Lifshitz, which included paired tasks, challenges, and deep conversation. Meanwhile, the bat mitzvah girls took part in an emotional challah separation workshop with a discussion about transitioning to a new stage in their lives. At the end, participants received a special gift and a dedicated study book for continued learning at home. The head of the yeshiva concluded with the quote 'And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers', emphasizing the continued connection of generations and the transmission of the legacy of Torah, mission, and love for the people of Israel and the Land of Israel.
