"Yes": MK from Yisrael Beiteinu Does Not Rule Out Coalition with the Democrats

MK Yulia Malinovsky from Yisrael Beiteinu did not rule out coalition cooperation with the Democrats party, answering "yes" when asked in an interview on the midday news program whether the party could be part of the next government. The interviewer, Ido Tauber, sharply criticized her, claiming a gap between the party's right-wing positions and willingness to sit with Yair Golan. Malinovsky did not retract her position.

MK Yulia Malinovsky from Yisrael Beiteinu did not rule out the possibility of coalition cooperation with the Democrats party. In an interview on the program "Midday News" on Channel 14, conducted today (Sunday), she was asked whether she considers it legitimate for the party to be part of the next government, and she simply replied: "Yes." The answer led to an on-air confrontation with interviewer Ido Tauber, who responded: "So I ask you, take back everything you just said. Because if you want to sit in a government with Yair Golan and his friends, then all your dreams about Gaza and closed crossings – those dreams will remain hanging in the air." Tauber added that in his view, there is a gap between the messages Yisrael Beiteinu presents and the willingness to sit with Yair Golan's party, saying: "You can't come and say 'I'm right-wing, I'm right-wing' and then say 'I'll sit in a government with Yair Golan.' Right-wing means a right-wing coalition." He also mentioned the previous government in which Yisrael Beiteinu was a partner, which he said did not advance right-wing policy in Judea and Samaria. Malinovsky did not qualify her answer and did not retract the position she presented during the interview.
