Yashar Party activist attacked while attempting to remove Yigal Amir protest sign from bridge

The sign had been hung by a group protesting Amir's prison sentence, who were still present when Mans approached. When Mans began to take down the sign, he was confronted and attacked by the protesters. Footage shows Mans lying on the ground with several protesters surrounding and assaulting him. Mans stated to Walla that police did not arrive at the scene after the attack. Following the attack, Mans was taken to the neurological department at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for bleeding in the brain caused by the injuries. He is scheduled to undergo surgery. In response, the Yashar Party issued a statement on X/Twitter on Monday, wishing Mans a "speedy recovery" and calling on the police to arrest the attackers. The party also noted that Gadi Eisenkot spoke with Ilan on Friday following the attack to offer his support. Yigal Amir murdered former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin on November 4, 1995, and has been in prison since his conviction; calls for his release have repeatedly sparked intense public controversy.
