The remarks were made against the backdrop of the political union between Hendel's Reservists Party and the Economic Party, which was also joined by Dr. Einat Wilf. In the interview, Zelicha was asked how his previous statements, in which he claimed that Hendel "doesn't know what the cost of living is" and that "Hendel-Tropper has no agenda," align with the new partnership. Zelicha replied simply: "I was wrong," and explained that he had assessed that wealthy individuals were blocking the possibility of joining certain partners, but Hendel proved him wrong. When asked how the public can trust his statements given this admission, Zelicha replied that he does not have a monopoly on wisdom and that he makes mistakes, but emphasized that the number of times he has been wrong in his predictions is very low, and that he has never reneged on a promise to the public in his 25 years of public activity. Hendel, for his part, praised the partnership and said that the combination of the three's different areas of expertise creates a "crazy comparative advantage."
