The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment yesterday (Tuesday) with the Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court against a resident of the city, about 30 years old, on suspicion of neglecting her two minor daughters, locking them in their room, and assaulting one of them. According to the indictment, the defendant, who lived with her partner and her two daughters (born in 2018 and 2023), assaulted her youngest daughter with kicks and slaps on several occasions, and even caused her injury. It was also alleged that she used to lock her daughters in their room from evening until morning, and that the girls banged on the door for a long time trying to get out, with no response. Over several days, the older daughter attacked her younger sister in about 20 instances, while the mother stayed in her room and did not intervene. During a renovation in the apartment, the defendant and her partner sawed off part of the iron bars in the balcony railing, leaving a significant gap. At the beginning of the month, while the mother was in her room, the girls opened the sliding door and went out to the balcony, and the youngest fell from the third floor. She was taken to the hospital with fractures to her hip and pelvis, liver damage, and a collapsed lung, and was hospitalized for 12 days. The indictment attributes to her offenses of assaulting a minor by a responsible person, assaulting a minor causing actual bodily harm, child neglect, false imprisonment, and leaving a child without supervision.
