Families raised photos of medical referrals, urging relevant authorities to expedite travel procedures, warning that continued waiting could lead to worsening health conditions, especially among children and the wounded. Sahar Inshasi recounted the suffering of her daughter with a spinal injury and her other child with a heart defect, in addition to her sick husband. Basem al-Toum, an amputee, spoke about his injury a year ago while fetching food and losing his ability to work. Estimates indicate that more than 18,000 wounded and sick are waiting to travel. During the war that lasted more than two years, the health sector suffered extensive damage, with most hospitals destroyed or damaged.
