World Fencing Championships: Six Israelis Advance to Final Stage

Six Israeli fencers have advanced to the final stage of the World Fencing Championships. Dov Vilensky finished 23rd in men's épée, the highest among Israelis. Liam Khaviv in men's foil achieved a personal best, qualifying for the final stage for the first time. Gili Kuritsky advanced in women's foil. All four Israeli representatives in men's épée made it to the final day.

The Israeli national fencing team continues to achieve success at the World Championships, with six fencers advancing to the final stage, which includes the top 64 fencers in the world. Épée fencer Dov Vilensky (Maccabi Ma'alot) finished 23rd, the highest among Israelis in the championship. Liam Khaviv (Foil Knights Acre) achieved a great personal feat in men's foil, qualifying for the final stage for the first time in his career and finishing 62nd. In men's épée, all four Israeli representatives advanced to the final day: Yonatan Cohen (42nd), Alon Sarid (52nd), and Yehonatan Mesika (61st). In women's foil, Gili Kuritsky (Hapoel Kfar Saba) advanced and finished 51st. The other Israeli fencers did not qualify for the final stage.
