Work continued despite license suspension: Police shut down two construction sites

Police, together with the Ministries of Labor and Housing, shut down two construction sites of 'Greenberg Nirim' company in central Israel, after the company continued operating sites despite the suspension of its license due to severe safety violations, including the death of a worker who fell from a height about a month ago. Five suspects were detained for questioning by Lahav 433.

Police, in cooperation with the Ministries of Labor and Housing, today shut down two construction sites of 'Greenberg Nirim Yizmot' company in the Sharon and Tel Aviv areas. This followed the company's continued operation of sites despite its license being suspended on June 3 for three years by the Registrar of Contractors, due to severe safety violations found in inspections. The suspicion strengthened after a worker was killed on June 25 at a company site in Tirat Carmel, falling from a height during casting work. Detectives from the Police Labor Safety Investigation Unit conducted covert evidence-gathering operations, after which they arrived at the sites today together with safety administration officials and investigators from the Registrar of Contractors, and halted work. Five suspects were detained for questioning by Lahav 433. According to data from the 'Group for the Fight Against Construction and Industry Accidents', 15 safety orders were imposed at the company's sites in recent years, and in 2024 a worker was seriously injured at a site in Kiryat Ono. Since the beginning of 2026, 47 workers have been killed in work accidents in Israel, 29 of them at construction sites. The company has not yet responded.
