Five women with intellectual disabilities, in their 30s and 40s, have complained that a sports instructor at a hostel in Kfar Saba committed indecent acts on them in public over a period of about two years. This morning (Monday), the court extended the detention of the instructor, a resident of Netanya in his 50s, until August 6. Upon receiving the complaints, the Kfar Saba police station opened a covert investigation that lasted weeks, and only after it matured did they move to the overt stage. Yesterday, the suspect was arrested; his work at the hostel ended on July 22. The police attribute special severity to the investigation, among other things because the offenses were committed against helpless individuals within a framework that was supposed to provide them with protection, care, and security.
