Without Netanyahu at the helm - the Likud may consider a dramatic step: "Within a short time"

Haim Ramon estimates that the upcoming elections will not yield 61 seats for any bloc, and that Benjamin Netanyahu will not remain prime minister. According to him, a minority government headed by Gadi Eisenkot is the most likely scenario, but he qualifies this with the fall of the Iranian regime or a move by Avigdor Lieberman.

Haim Ramon, a former minister in Israeli governments, estimates on the 103FM radio program that the upcoming Knesset elections will not yield 61 seats for any political bloc. According to him, the Arab parties, which will bring between 13 and 15 seats, will not allow Netanyahu to continue as prime minister of a transitional government, even if this requires them to support a minority government. Ramon predicts that the most likely scenario is a minority government headed by Gadi Eisenkot, but he qualifies two possibilities that could change the picture: the fall of the Iranian regime, which would change public opinion in Israel and allow Netanyahu to reach 61 seats; and a move by Avigdor Lieberman, who, according to Ramon, is locked on the goal of the premiership and will want to form a rotation government with Eisenkot, despite attacking Eisenkot's lack of experience at the launch ceremony of his list. Ramon notes that if Netanyahu is not at the helm, the Likud may consider a dramatic step within a short time.
