The Iranian newspaper Al-Mashhari, affiliated with the Tehran Municipality, published an article revealing, according to its claim, the reasons why no audio recording of Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been published so far. The newspaper's Telegram channel listed five main reasons for the fear of locating his whereabouts, including a unique acoustic signature for every enclosed space, analysis of the power grid, a unique imprint of microphones, system noises, and the resonance of the sound system.
The Iranian daily newspaper Al-Mashhari, affiliated with the Tehran Municipality, published today (Sunday) an article revealing, according to its claim, the reasons why no audio recording of Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been published so far. On Al-Mashhari's Telegram channel, it was stated that the reason is the fear that intelligence services could track and analyze the audio files. The channel presented five main reasons for the fear of locating Mojtaba Khamenei's whereabouts. First, it was explained that every enclosed space has a unique acoustic signature, from which precise details about the room where the speaker is located can be revealed. Second, according to the newspaper, through the power grid one can infer the date, the exact time, and even the specific segment of the power grid where the recording was made. Additionally, every microphone and recording device leaves a unique imprint on the audio file. For example, microphones of mobile phones attenuate low frequencies, and cheap components create a unique harmonic distortion that serves as a kind of fingerprint of the device. In addition, noises from ventilation systems, generators, cooling equipment, or other technical characteristics of the site may reveal its location. The last reason, according to the newspaper, is that the resonance of the speaker's sound system can reveal his breathing patterns, pauses between words, physical condition, heart rate, and level of stress.
