Widespread raids in the West Bank: occupation arrests 9 citizens and detains a journalist

Israeli occupation forces continued on Tuesday a widespread campaign of raids in the West Bank, during which they arrested nine citizens and detained a journalist for hours, and raided dozens of homes. The raids included Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Tubas, and Hebron, with beatings of released prisoners and an attack by settlers in Masafer Yatta.

Israeli occupation forces continued on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, a widespread campaign of raids and incursions in various areas of the West Bank, resulting in the arrest of nine citizens, the detention of a journalist for hours, and the raiding of dozens of homes and properties. In Qalqilya, the forces arrested five citizens: Baraa al-Haj Hassan, Bilal Hanoun, Saji Abu Udba, Aws Abu Ali, and Shawqi Hammad, after storming the city from its eastern entrance and deploying in the Kafr Saba and al-Naqar neighborhoods. In Tulkarm, they arrested three citizens from the towns of Deir al-Ghusun and al-Jarushiya: Zaki Ghaleb Alyan (35), Yazan Hatem al-Qab, and Fakhr Muhammad Ghanem. In northwest Jerusalem, they arrested Birzeit University student Tariq Jamhour from his home in Beit Anan and stormed the town of al-Ram. In Bethlehem, they stormed the towns of Dar Salah, al-Ubeidiya, al-Shawawra, Za'tara, Harmala, and Dheisheh camp, detained journalist Muath Amarna before releasing him, and raided a poultry farm in Beit Fajjar, damaging eggs. In Tubas, they stormed al-Far'a camp without arrests. In Hebron, they stormed several neighborhoods and detained released prisoners, beating them: Qusay Abu Hata, Muhammad Ayoub al-Rajbi, Bashir Faisal al-Karki, Khattab Arafat al-Qawasmi, Amjad al-Rajbi, Fadi Abu Sneneh, Badi' al-Rajbi, and Tamir al-Rajbi. They also stormed al-Fawwar camp and caused damage. Settlers attacked Khirbet al-Kharaba in Masafer Yatta and terrorized residents.
