Yossi Ben Haim, a police volunteer and member of a rapid response team, claims that he and his wife were beaten, handcuffed, and humiliated in front of their children by police officers at their home in Nahariya. According to him, the incident occurred on Wednesday around 12:00 PM, when two officers arrived at the apartment following a call received by the police. Ben Haim says an argument developed after he commented on the way the officer entered the home, and that within 70 or 80 seconds the incident escalated. He claims the officer pulled his wife's head covering, pushed her, and that he himself was taken out of the house in handcuffs, laid on the ground, punched in the back, and later beaten in the patrol car. His wife was also handcuffed and force was used against her. The two were brought to the police station, where they remained handcuffed for a long time and were subjected to curses. After several hours, a senior investigator who knew him arrived and asked to end the incident. They were questioned and released. The police stated that those involved were detained for questioning and released at the end under conditions, and that the team was equipped with body cameras. The police claim that upon the team's arrival, a "violent disturbance" began against the officers, and that the report was transferred to the Police Internal Investigations Department. Ben Haim, who returned his weapon and volunteer equipment, said: "I don't want to be part of this anymore."
