Leavitt, who returned to the White House podium after the birth of her daughter Viviana in May, wrote in a post that this was a 'difficult decision with mixed emotions' and that she cannot be the best mother to her children while devoting the time the job requires. President Trump said he 'fully understands and respects' her decision and wrote that she will be one of his prominent outside advisers and an influential voice in the Republican Party. Leavitt previously worked as a spokesperson for Maga Inc., ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022, and served as communications director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. Trump did not say who will replace her.
