When he opened the window, he was struck repeatedly, losing consciousness, four teeth, and suffering facial injuries. He remained unconscious for about two minutes and, upon waking, heard the teenagers threatening and cursing him. He managed to drive away, contacted police, and was evacuated to the hospital. In a statement, M. described the attack: "I had only just started my shift... I heard loud banging on the side of the vehicle. I had only just opened the window when I was hit with tremendous force." He added that he panicked and drove through the intersection, feeling he was losing control, but managed to park the bus. MK Jafar Farah (Hadash), who also directs the Mossawa Center, condemned the attack as part of a dangerous reality of incitement and racism, blaming the government for encouraging hatred. Itay Cohen, head of the transportation division at Koach LaOvdim, said another line had been crossed in violence against public transportation workers and called for more security. Superbus, the bus company, also condemned the attack and said it is cooperating with police.
