WhatsApp's new step – will organize your personal schedule
WhatsApp is launching a dedicated Events Hub in the app's settings, centralizing all meetings and group gatherings on one screen. The system allows creating events from scratch, sending invitation links even to those without a WhatsApp account, and managing reminders. The feature was spotted in an Android beta version and is expected to roll out to all users in the coming weeks.
WhatsApp is expanding its toolkit with the launch of a dedicated Events Hub in the app's settings. Until now, the events feature was limited to individual chats, forcing users to manually scroll between chats. The new hub presents a chronological list of all events and allows creating an event from scratch with a name, description, date, end time, cover image, automatic reminder, and a video call link. A significant innovation is the ability to invite participants without a WhatsApp account using a browser link, while preserving location privacy and phone numbers. The feature, reported by WABetaInfo, was spotted in an Android beta version (2.26.36.5) and is expected to roll out to all users in the coming weeks, positioning WhatsApp as a competitor to traditional calendars like Google Calendar.
