The Safe Internet hotline received dozens of reports from users who said they were blocked without clear reason, even after filing an appeal through the app. The association contacted Meta with an urgent request for assistance and an explanation of the source of the problem, but has not yet received a response. The association warns that the phenomenon may expand, and reminds that WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in Israel, used by 99% of the adult population. They recommend not to be tempted by paid offers to remove the block, and to back up photos, documents, and messages. Meta stated that they are working to block users who abuse the platform, and sometimes make mistakes, then work to fix them quickly.
