In the second quarter of 2026, Israeli credit card spending rose by 5.7% compared to the same period last year. The largest growth was in electronics, furniture, clothing, and footwear (9.6%), as well as in IT and transport (10.8% and 10.2%). Services increased by 4.7%, while food only rose by 1.2%. Spending on entertainment fell by 6.5%, and on energy by 0.4%.

According to fresh statistics from the Central Bureau of Statistics, in the second quarter of 2026, the volume of credit card purchases in Israel grew by 5.7% compared to the same period last year. The most notable growth was recorded in the segments of electronics, furniture, clothing, and footwear – by 9.6%. Spending on computers and software jumped by 10.8%, and on transport equipment and services – by 10.2%. The services sector, including tourism and hotels, added 4.7%, with trips and hotel bookings rising by 4.5%. Spending on food and beverages increased by only 1.2%. At the same time, spending on entertainment and leisure decreased by 6.5%, and on energy – by 0.4%. In the spending structure, the category 'other goods and services' (communications, medications, computers, fuel) leads – about 45% of all transactions. Services and industrial goods account for roughly 20% each, and food – about 15%.
