This period sparks debate regarding the historical background of the biblical Exodus. Among the findings: ten mudbrick tombs, scarab amulets, bronze tools, pottery, cosmetic containers, human remains, and animal bones. A large residential complex measuring 30 by 60 meters, kilns, and granaries were also found. Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy praised the efforts of the expeditions.
