Weight-loss injections work in practice - only if the necessary condition is met

Prof. Roy Eldor from Ichilov said on 103FM that weight-loss injections are effective only when used correctly under medical supervision. He noted that more than half of Israeli adults suffer from obesity, and that the treatment may lead to significant weight loss and protection against complications such as heart disease and sleep apnea.

Prof. Roy Eldor, director of the Endocrinology Institute at Ichilov Medical Center, spoke this morning (Monday) on 103FM about the phenomenon of weight-loss injections, the effectiveness of the treatment, and possible side effects. According to him, more than half of the adult population in Israel suffers from overweight or obesity, and most causes of death and morbidity are related to this. He emphasized that when the treatment is carried out under medical supervision and consistently, great effectiveness is seen, including significant weight loss. He also noted that the drugs are being studied in the context of obesity complications, such as protecting the heart and brain from cardiovascular events and treating sleep apnea.
