"We've reached the limit": Dozens of protesters outside the Israeli embassy in Thailand

The protesters waved Thai flags and signs reading "Thailand is not for sale," "Save Thailand," and "This is not the promised land." The protest was accompanied by a police presence, but no disturbances were reported. Organizer Sondhi Limthongkul read an open letter to Ambassador Alona Fisher-Kam, which included four concrete demands: to instruct Israelis to respect local law and culture, not to protect Israelis who have committed offenses, to cooperate in examining land holdings and the activities of Chabad centers, and to convey a demand to stop harming civilians in Gaza. Alongside the demands, the letter contained severe and unsubstantiated claims about Israel's intentions, including that Israelis are "fighters disguised as tourists" and Mossad agents. The letter ended with a warning that the patience of the Thai people "has reached its limit." In contrast, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said that Israelis have the right to operate in the country as long as they do not violate the law. The protest comes against a backdrop of growing tension surrounding Israelis in several tourist destinations, and simultaneously an expanding investigation into Israeli businessman Mimon David Marsiano on suspicion of holding assets illegally.
